NEW VENTURES & GROWTH
Samir Gasim Group continues to pursue new areas of growth that build on the experience, relationships and market knowledge developed across generations. Our approach to new ventures is guided by a long-term perspective, with a focus on businesses that complement the Group’s existing activities and respond to opportunities within the Sudanese economy.
We seek to enter sectors where the Group can contribute practical operating experience, established commercial networks and an understanding of local market conditions. New ventures are developed with the same emphasis on responsible investment, strong partnerships, operational discipline and the creation of sustainable value that guides our established businesses.
This section highlights three areas of development within the Group, Ahmed Gasim Pharma, representing our expansion into the pharmaceutical sector, Komnut International, focused on peanut processing and export, and Silver Fields Agriculture Project, reflecting our investment in large-scale agricultural production. Together, they demonstrate the Group’s continuing commitment to diversification, responsible investment and the development of new businesses for the future.
AHMED GASIM PHARMA CO.LTD
Ahmed Gasim Pharma represents Samir Gasim Group’s expansion into the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. The venture has been established with a long-term objective of developing a credible pharmaceutical business capable of building relationships with manufacturers, healthcare institutions, medical professionals and other sector partners in Sudan.
The Group’s interest in healthcare builds on the family’s long-standing involvement in Ahmed Gasim Hospital and its wider commitment to supporting healthcare and community development. This experience has provided the Group with valuable exposure to the healthcare environment and an understanding of the importance of quality, reliability and trusted institutional relationships within the sector.
Ahmed Gasim Pharma is being developed around opportunities in pharmaceutical representation, distribution and related healthcare activities. The business aims to combine Samir Gasim Group’s local market knowledge, commercial networks and operating experience with partnerships that can support the responsible introduction and distribution of pharmaceutical and healthcare products in Sudan.
As the venture develops, the focus will remain on building the business carefully and sustainably, establishing strong partnerships and maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and professional responsibility. Ahmed Gasim Pharma forms part of the Group’s wider strategy of entering new sectors where its experience, relationships and long-term approach can create meaningful value.
KOMNUT INTERNATIONAL CO.LTD
Komnut International was established to develop a more sustainable and value-added peanut industry in Sudan, with a focus on strengthening local processing, improving product quality and creating better market opportunities for producers.
The venture is designed to support the wider agricultural value chain by working more closely with farmers and suppliers, encouraging improved production practices and helping locally produced peanuts meet the quality and food-safety requirements of domestic and international markets. Particular attention is given to reducing aflatoxin risk, improving traceability and strengthening quality management throughout the supply chain.
By increasing local processing and improving access to higher-value markets, Komnut aims to create greater economic value within Sudan, support rural livelihoods and contribute to employment and skills development. The business also seeks to build more resilient relationships between producers, processors and buyers, helping farmers participate more effectively in formal and export-oriented markets.
Komnut reflects Samir Gasim Group’s broader commitment to responsible investment and long-term development. Its objective is not only to build a commercially sustainable business, but also to contribute to a stronger agricultural sector through local value creation, improved food safety, better market access and sustainable opportunities for Sudanese producers.
Building a Stronger Peanut Value Chain
Komnut’s development model is centred on strengthening the connection between farmers, processing and markets. The objective is to improve the quality and consistency of Sudanese peanuts while enabling producers to participate more effectively in formal and export-oriented supply chains.
Farmer Support & Capacity Building
Komnut aims to work with farmers and suppliers to promote improved agricultural practices, stronger post-harvest handling and greater awareness of food-safety requirements. Technical guidance and training can help producers improve productivity, reduce losses and achieve more consistent product quality.
Particular attention will be given to supporting smaller producers and strengthening their ability to meet the requirements of commercial buyers and international markets.
Traceability & Food Safety
Traceability and quality management are fundamental to the venture. Komnut intends to strengthen systems for identifying the origin, handling and movement of products throughout the supply chain, creating greater transparency for producers, processors and customers.
Managing aflatoxin risk is a central priority. Through improved handling, testing and quality-control practices, the business aims to reduce contamination risk and help Sudanese peanuts meet increasingly demanding food-safety and market requirements.
Local Processing & Market Access
Increasing local processing allows more of the value generated by Sudanese agriculture to remain within the country. Komnut aims to develop processing capabilities that improve product quality, create employment and enable greater participation in higher-value domestic and export markets.
By building stronger links between farmers, processors and buyers, the venture seeks to improve market access while developing sustainable commercial relationships capable of supporting long-term growth.
Long-Term Impact
The wider objective is to contribute to a more productive, resilient and commercially sustainable peanut sector. Through farmer engagement, quality improvement, local value addition and improved access to markets, Komnut aims to create benefits across the supply chain while developing a commercially viable business for the long term.
SILVER FIELDS AGRICULTURE PROJECT

Silver Fields Agriculture Project represents Samir Gasim Group’s investment in large-scale agricultural production in Sudan’s Northern State, near Dongola. The project covers approximately 5,000 feddans and builds on the Group’s earlier experience in agriculture and agribusiness.
The project is being developed around modern farming practices, efficient irrigation and the production of commercially important crops suited to the region. Planned crops include wheat, groundnuts and sunflower, with the objective of combining productive agriculture with responsible use of land and water resources.
Silver Fields forms part of the Group’s broader strategy of investing in sectors where Sudan has strong natural advantages and significant potential for local value creation, food production and long-term agricultural development.
Building Agricultural Capacity and Local Value
Silver Fields is being developed with the objective of creating value beyond the project itself. The Group aims to support local economic activity through employment, supplier relationships, knowledge transfer and stronger links with surrounding farming communities.
The project seeks to promote improved agricultural practices and greater access to modern farming methods, technical knowledge and more efficient use of resources. Where appropriate, Silver Fields aims to work with local producers and suppliers to strengthen productivity, crop quality and participation in wider commercial value chains.
Food Production and Market Development
By increasing productive agricultural capacity, the project aims to contribute to Sudan’s food supply while supporting the development of commercially sustainable crop production. Greater local production also creates opportunities for processing, storage, transport and other services connected to the agricultural sector.
Over time, Silver Fields aims to strengthen links between production and markets, supporting opportunities in both domestic trade and export-oriented agriculture.
Long-Term Impact
The long-term objective is to build a commercially sustainable agricultural operation that contributes to employment, food production, skills development and local economic activity.
Through responsible investment, modern agricultural practices and stronger engagement across the value chain, Silver Fields aims to demonstrate how large-scale agriculture can create durable economic and social value while supporting the continued development of Sudan’s agricultural sector.
